The microwave motion sensor detects moving objects by emitting high-frequency electromagnetic waves. It triggers full brightness for the 15W solar round strip light when pedestrians approach, and switches to dim mode when no movement is detected. PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor detects human body heat. It has ultra-low power consumption, lower cost, but its performance is affected by ambient temperature. It works well for solar lights in most scenic walkways.
Microwave motion sensor sends high-frequency electromagnetic waves to detect movement. It is stable in extreme hot/cold weather and can sense through thin non-metal barriers. Its power draw and price are higher. It fits residential areas where strong light is not needed late at night, with fewer false failures caused by temperature shifts.
Dual sensor (PIR + Microwave) is available for higher accuracy and less false triggering.

Can I choose between PIR and microwave motion sensor for this solar street light?
Yes. PIR is recommended for scenic walkways for lower power consumption. Microwave is better for residential zones with large temperature fluctuation. Dual PIR+microwave sensor is also available.
